Whole 30 – End of Week 2
It’s almost been two weeks, which means we’re almost HALF WAY!
Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
- Drinking water is super important. It’s the best way I’ve found to figure out if I’m actually hungry or if I’m just bored/craving something.
- Cravings are a bitch. Especially when you’ve had a rough day and all that could possibly fix anything is a cupcake or 4. Call someone, read a book, take a shower, go to bed, just do something to take your mind off of it.
- There’s sugar and soy in EVERYTHING?! It’s in bacon, and I love bacon, and the only bacon I’ve found without sugar is at Whole Foods and not only is that far away, but they’re always sold out. But it’s not just bacon. Dried fruit, nut butters, seasonings, deli meat, everything. Same thing with soy, it’s everywhere. The one that confused me the most: pickles. Why do we need yellow #5 in pickles? Anyone?
- Prepping food on Sunday makes the week a lot easier. I don’t have to think about it as much if I know all the food in my fridge is Whole30 approved and it’s ready to eat. Can’t figure out what to prep? Get on Pinterest and search Whole30 recipes (make sure they really are Whole 30 compliant), make your shopping list, turn on some music and get cooking.
